The Oshkosh Area School District Board of Education released the names of three finalists to replace Dr. Vickie Cartwright for the superintendent position.

The finalists are Bryan Davis, current Superintendent of Shorewood School District; Aaron Sadoff, current Superintendent of the School District of North Fond du Lac; and Cassandra Schug, current Superintendent of Watertown School District.

Davis has been a Superintendent for the past 11 years, 6 at Shorewood and 5 at Columbus School District. Prior to that, he was the Principal of Green Bay Prebble as well as spending time in the business department at Oshkosh West.

Sadoff has spent most of his professional career in and around North Fond du Lac, serving as Superintendent the past 12 years after being Principal at Bessie Allen Middle School in the district.

Schug, Watertown’s Superintendent for the past 11 years, had been Principal of West Bend East High School for 7 years prior.

The process of selecting finalists is the result of about a month of intensive work.

The school board hired a search firm in April and worked closely with CESA 6 in gathering, assessing, and ultimately selecting the finalists in a closed board session on May 17 in conjunction with a community stakeholder group of 26 people.

The district selected several characteristics it used in selecting the finalists based on a community survey given to the general public.

The candidate chosen will replace Dr. Cartwright, who resigned effective June 30 after three years serving as the OASD Superintendent in a press release on March 15.

“While I am proud of and appreciative for this opportunity, the time has come for me to pursue the next chapter of my career,” Cartwright stated.

The three finalists will enter into interviews and more community-specific evaluations next week.

“A community stakeholder group of about 30 district and community representatives, including parents, teachers, staff, business and civic partners and more, will interview the three finalists in person on May 24.”
