Tyrese Haliburton, an Oshkosh North alumnus, donated $3 million to North’s athletic fund to show his appreciation for the school. His generous gift was announced during a dedication ceremony for the Frank Schade Fieldhouse in August 2025.
The $3 million donation has gone on to fund a new huge video display in the fieldhouse, new scoreboards, and a brand new state-of-the-art weight room, and more. Spectators at North games now enjoy a greater experience due to the large, bright screen, giving more life and energy. Students in gym class or in North athletic programs also enjoy new equipment and machines, allowing for more focused and safer workouts.
When asked about the new upgraded weight room, ONHS senior, Antonio Thompson, compliments saying “I think the new weight room is a pretty cool opportunity for the school and a lot of the athletes [and students]. I think it’ll help all the strength and conditioning programs and athletic programs be able to get better workouts [too].”
He also believes that the new equipment has helped him as an individual improve, stating how it is safer and more optimal for working out.
“[The] equipment is more optimal; it works better than the old stuff so we can get workouts done more efficiently. I really liked when we got rid of the…metal boxes and went to the foam boxes, because if you’re jumping on foam, you’re less likely to hurt yourself so it’s a bit more safe.”
Athletes and spectators in the Frank Schade Fieldhouse alike are enjoying the new additions to the North facilities. The new huge video display and new workout equipment is a nice welcoming addition to the fieldhouse and the entire community is grateful for the gift that Haliburton has given to the school.
