As the leaves begin to fall and the air gets crisp, we know the snow is about to come and Christmas is around the corner. And as the holiday season starts, some of us tend to get a winter depression, so I’m going to come up with some things to cure that!
- Decorate your house for Christmas! Because everyone knows some lights, new bedding, and a tree can really change your mood. Unless you’re a scrooge in that case maybe change your attitude.
- Hot Coco! Get some hot coco with lots of marshmallows and sprinkles, with some whipped cream! It’s bound to cheer you up and put you in the holiday spirit.
- Walks! Go for a nice walk with your friends or your mom; I’m sure your mom misses you or maybe you and your friends need to catch up on the drama. Either way, it’s nice to be in fresh air enjoying the nature we have.
- Start a new book! Reading a new book always makes you more productive and happy. I love a good book with a cozy blanket around the fireplace.
- Go on a shopping spree! Retail therapy can always be a fun time. Buying yourself a new perfume or a new sweater can always cure some of the sadness. Because who doesn’t love smelling good or rocking a new sweater!
In all, just take time to yourself because as we near the end of the semester it can become a very stressful time for many. We may be in a rush to get grades up or have new things like the musical season to prepare for, to things like sports kicking up. Either way, it can be rewarding to take some time to do relaxing things for yourself.
