The 2025-26 season for girls tennis has almost concluded. With a season record of 5-3, the team is now approaching conference on October 2nd. The team has won against our school’s rival, Oshkosh West, for the second year in a row-a big achievement, especially considering the team had previously struggled before starting their winning streak last year..
When asked about the hopes for varsity conference this year, her goal for the team as a whole, as well as if she thinks the goal was accomplished, varsity coach, Brynn Hartzel, said:
”My goal for the season was for all of the girls on the team to have consistent improvement on their strokes and learn new strategies for match play. Most importantly, I wanted my players to enjoy their time on the court. I would say we accomplished that goal as a team. For conference, I hope the girls can either finish at their seed or higher”.
Emily (Steiner) was asked her personal goal for the season and if she accomplished it as well as what she’s looking forward to next season:
“My goal was to improve my serves and continue to enjoy our games and I think I improved my serves and I definitely enjoyed playing this season. And I’m looking forward to continuing to play with Shaterra and the rest of the team. And also getting even better next year!”
Good luck to all the girls competing at Conference!
