Oshkosh North would like to welcome Ms. Kent and Mr. Toshner as our two new administrators this year.
Ms. Kent, the new Dean of Students, decided to work here at North, because she heard rumors about how good the staff and students were. She decided to work in education when she was in college, and took the job in August of this year. She’s been in education for 7 years, teaching science at West, and went to UW for biology and astronomy. Ms. Kent wants to work as a Dean because she wants to expand her knowledge on another level of education that doesn’t involve teaching. She helps students struggling with irregular/rowdy behavior, figuring out conflicts, and is there for any student concerns. She is available almost anytime to talk, and you can find her in her office, lunchroom, or anywhere else.
Mr. Toshner who, as the Assistant Principal, took the job here at North, because he heard it was a good school, and North is closer by. Mr. Toshner took the job the week before school, and interviewed the week before that. Mr. Toshner likes fly fishing, hunting, and going to his youngest’s sports games. He took the job because it’s his 23rd year teaching, and it helps with his family. Mr. Toshner is an instructional leader for teachers, and helps struggling students. Much like Ms. Kent, you can find Mr. Toshner almost anywhere. The lunch room, his office, or around classrooms are common places where Mr. Toshner is found. Mr. Toshner is available almost anytime for students, other than teacher meetings.
