While some people blame themselves for this change, it’s truly all Santa’s fault.

The excessive deals tied to Christmas demand makes people feel like they have to spend excessively.

Although many people rank their love for one another with monetarial value, over consumption feeds into this idea. People’s friendship can feel purely transactional, yet materials don’t stay with people till they die. It’s the memories and spending quality time with the people you love that impacts who you are.
When kids stop believing in Santa, instead of feeding into the bratty attitude and continuing to buy them presents, bury the fat guy in the red coat. Instead of giving gifts, spend more time with family and share your gratitude for your loved ones this holiday season.
