We all know that trafficking the waiver wire on a Tuesday morning can be tough. Who do I pick up? I need a running back for this week’s match up because I have a starter on bye. Or you are just looking to snatch up a player to stash on your bench. In this segment of Fantasy corner we are going to be focusing on my top-five waiver wire targets for Week 4.

We had a crazy week in fantasy this past week, from Christian McCaffrey going down to Alexander Mattison having a breakout week in the wake of an inactive Dalvin Cook. Justin Herbert and Matthew Stafford each had 30+ point weeks in PPR formatted leagues.

  1. The number one pickup of the week is Chuba Hubbard of the Carolina Panthers. With McCaffrey going down early in the game Thursday, Hubbard stepped in as the clear lead back, vulturing 55% of snaps after McCaffrey was gone. He logged a total of 14 touches including 11 rushes for 52 yards and three catches for 27 yards. He is my number one this week due to the uncertainty of McCaffrey’s injury. It’s reported he’ll miss a few weeks at least.
  2. My number two has to be Kirk Cousins who put out another impressive week, producing 25+ points in PPR formatting, his third game with 20+ points this year which lands him at QB4 overall. He has several talented receivers, including Justin Jefferson, Adam Thieland, and Dalvin Cook. He has earned the number 2 spot on this list due to his consistency.
  3. We are going back to a second running back for spot 3. Raiders RB Peyton Barber has taken the spotlight in the wake of a Josh Jacobs injury. With Jacobs return timetable uncertain, Barber looks like the clear favorite to lead the backfield over Kenyan Drake. He had 23 carries on Sunday for 111 yards and a score, while catching 3 passes for 31 yards. He is a strong pickup this week.
  4. Moving on to number 4, Buffalo Bills WR Emmanuel Sanders balled out for 5 catches tallying 94 yards and two scores in the matchup Sunday. With an elite quarterback in Josh Allen, he looks to have good volume. If he can get the red zone targets he has received in the first few games, he will look to have a good season.
  5. Josh Gordon’s back, baby! He earns number 5 this week because he plans to sign with an elite and explosive Chiefs offense. He is a tal,l physical receiver who brings crazy talent to this already talented receiving core. Look for Mahomes to target him in the red zone to use his size.

This concludes week one of Fantasy corner! Stay tuned for upcoming weeks.
