On Thursday, May 9, the Oshkosh North Girls Varsity soccer team played the Appleton West Terrors, losing 3-1. Ellie Lieder scored the only Spartan goal on a penalty kick in the second half. It was one of two penalty kicks on the night, with the Terrors getting one in the first half.

The girls are now 5-6-3. They have experienced lots of variance in games. Before losing to Appleton West, the Spartans had defeated Hortonville 8-0. Before that, they beat Kaukauna 6-1, the same score they lost to Appleton North right before that game.

With such inconsistency, the Spartans’ loose-wire nature might make them a dangerous team as the regular season comes to a close and regionals begin.
