
While school is settling in, the warm autumn breeze is rising. Before the chilly winter weather starts creeping in, have a look at this list of some fun outdoor activities to do here in the Fox Valley area.
Zooloween Boo at Menominee Park Zoo
Starting off strong here in Oshkosh! A great activity for all ages is the Zoo’s Halloween Bash at Menominee. On October 18th, from 11a.m. to 3p.m. you can dress up in your best costume and experience all the different animals while indulging in some sweet candy.
Farmers Market
A great way to spend an autumn morning is at your local farmers market! The amazing downtown Farmers Market in Oshkosh will be open until the 25th of this month, along with the Fond du Lac market. If you haven’t yet seen the wide variety of produce, art, and more, don’t hesitate to make a trip in between the hours of 8a.m. to 12p.m.
Apple Orchards
In need of fresh apples? Located right off highway 21, you can visit the Rasmussen’s family-owned apple orchard just west of Oshkosh. Whether it’s to bake some delicious pies or just casual snacking, you can find up to six different varieties of apples at the Rasmussen’s.
Haunted Houses
Burial Chambers Haunted Complex is a classic haunted attraction near and dear to the Fox Valley area. Located in Neenah, Burial Chambers offers multiple indoor and outdoor haunts that you can enjoy well into November. If you want to venture a little further from home, you can visit the Sheboygan Haunted Asylum which is Wisconsin’s only real haunted asylum for the time being.
Farms
If you’re looking for a cozy place to pick pumpkins and dig into some apple cider donuts, visit Cuff Farm up in Hortonville! They offer a free play area for kids that includes a large corn maze, corn pool, a bale slide, and much more. An honorable mention when it comes to farms, isThe Little Farmer in Malone, WI, which is located almost directly across from North Fond du Lac. The Little Farmer has a plethora of activities, ranging from corn mazes to making the best muffins you can find therefore both are great options for whatever side of Lake Winnebago you’re on.
