For the second consecutive year in a row, Oshkosh North High School scored the highest on report cards in the entire Fox Valley. With a score of 78.8, North “exceeds expectations”, according to the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction.
This is an increase of 4.6 from North’s report card last year, showing continuous and significant improvement, announced in a press release published by the Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) in November.
“The Oshkosh Area School District (OASD) is pleased to announce that both Oshkosh North High School and Oshkosh West High School continue to “Exceed Expectations.” This distinction highlights the ongoing strong performance at the high school level, driven by a focus on student growth and high levels of participation in the arts and dual enrollment courses.”
North saw substantial improvement in the Target Group Outcomes priority area, an area which is “designed to promote equity by helping districts focus on learners who need the most support while also improving outcomes for all students,” as mentioned in the press release.
“Highlights from the recently released district and school report cards for the OASD include continued strong performance at the high school level, with Oshkosh North seeing its second year of continued and substantial improvement in the Target Group Outcomes priority area. This priority area, formerly called Closing Gaps, is designed to inform improvement efforts, resulting in positive change for learners who most need it while also improving outcomes for all students.”
North staff celebrated the achievement, wearing shirts stating: “Oshkosh North High School Proud Staff: #1 in the Fox Valley”. North students were rewarded with activities during the school day such as making ornaments, snowflake making, and building graham cracker houses.
