Oshkosh Farmers Market Returns

Kate Gassere

With the Month of June just beginning, the Oshkosh Farmers Market will soon return. This cherished seasonal tradition includes various vendors, from delicious food to handmade items and crafts. This family friendly event draws in many with the face paint booth, the kona ice truck, and opportunities for funnel cake.

Beginning June 3 all the way until October 8, the market is open each Saturday morning from 8 am to 12:30 pm. Main Street is blocked off in order to accommodate this event from Algoma Boulevard to Prospect Avenue.

The farmers market provides a great environment to discover new foods or find great deals on things you already love.  Many small businesses also participate in the farmers market, which is a great way for them to gain support within the community. There are many local farm vendors that provide easy access to organic and American grown produce. Not only is the produce delicious, but purchasing from the Farmers Market allows you to connect with the people who put the work into growing that food. Fresh produce is one of the most sought after products featured in the market as well as breakfast or lunch from various local vendors. Whether you’d like to stop through for a meal or just walk around and check things out, the Oshkosh Farmers Market has something for everyone.

Attending the Farmers Market is a great way to connect with others while showing support for our community. Many people from Oshkosh and surrounding areas gather for this event, there’s usually a good chance of running into someone you know. Catching up with old friends is a highlight for many, but the Farmers Market is also an amazing place to meet new and friendly faces.

Each week features live music along with the more than 130 local vendors as well as many opportunities to learn more about downtown Oshkosh and observe the beautiful murals and architecture.  The live music features local groups and allows them to gain exposure as well as contributing to the lively energy of downtown Oshkosh.

Oshkosh’s Main Street is a great place to get outside and get your steps in. Not only is it a wonderful route for a stroll around the market, but it is also located within walking distance for north side residents. The opportunity to spend time outdoors is exactly what Oshkosh needs after a cold and snowy winter.

The return of this beloved event is fast approaching and will be sure to impress. Go on out and see for yourself all of the wonderful food, produce, and crafted items available right here in our city.
