The Oshkosh North boys varsity soccer team defeated the #2 Cedarburg Bulldogs Oct. 28, 2-1. They will now face Whitefish Bay Saturday for a chance to clinch a State birth

Sophomore Steven Tapia scored the first Spartans’ first goal after Cedarburg took an early 1-0 lead.

Patrick Wilondja scored the second goal with 8 minutes left in the game.

However, it wasn’t until the final seconds that North secured the victory.

Cedarburg had a free kick at the 18 yard line with 9 seconds left, and junior goalkeeper Kyle Gillingham came up with one last save on the night to seal the game.

They now go on to round two of sectionals where they will travel to face Whitefish Bay, the n0. 1 seed in the sectional, at 7pm on Saturday, Oct. 30.
