Senior Column: Mason Day

Mason Day, Sports Editor

Many people have made my journey the last four years a great experience.

I’d first like to thank all of my friends that I’ve spent countless hours with inside and outside of school. From Friday night football games to late-night drives with nothing to do, every one of you has made things interesting and I can’t wait to see all of us chase our dreams!

Mr.Cummings has had a huge influence on me ever since I joined his class in the second semester of my sophomore year. I have enjoyed every second of journalism class and all of the interesting conversations that took place. No one has furthered my writing skills as much as he has, and I will forever be grateful for that as I head to college and into the real world!

The Communities Program has also had a huge impact on me the last four years. Mrs.Bougie, Mrs.Gauthier, Mr.Leib, and Mr.Weber have all shown true interest in my growth as a person and as a student ever since I stepped foot inside North. They have pushed me to become a better communicator, leader, and strived to build a relationship with me that will go beyond high school. I will forever be grateful for all the memories that were made within the Communities classroom and in my community!

Athletics has consumed a lot of my time while at North High. From early morning practices to late bus rides home, I will never take for granted the time I had as an athlete. Many relationships through athletics have helped shape me into who I am today and who I strive to be tomorrow. Basketball specifically has been quite the journey for me, between injuries, game-winners, big wins, and big losses. I am more than grateful that I was able to be a part of it all.

All in all, many people at Oshkosh North have made a positive impact on my life over the past four years. Many relationships created at North will go far beyond high school, and I can’t wait to see where life takes the senior class of 2021!
